Catch on to Fitness Clinics
This “free” fitness clinic is for youth ages 7-14 and demonstrates ways to improve overall health through proper nutrition and exercise. Camp admission is free with 10 canned goods. All proceeds benefit Gleaners Food Bank of Central Indiana.
Catch the Stars Youth Holiday Basketball Camp
This staple program provides boys and girls between the ages of 9-14 demonstration of basketball skills and drills while stressing the importance of sportsmanship, nutrition, academics & goal setting. Each camper receives one-on-one instruction with Tamika and volunteers, a camp t-shirt, daily lunches, a personalized skills assessment and a voucher to attend an Indiana Fever home game.
S.T.A.R.S.
This 8-week mentoring program provides young women ages 12-16 with a unique journey of self exploration addressing character building topics including goal setting, self-esteem, decision making and more in a positive & nurturing atmosphere. STARS stands for Sisters Teaching And Reaching Sisters and is currently held twice annually. Tutoring assistance is provided for all participants.
COURT STARS
This new 6-week program will integrate sports and life skills by teaching basketball fundamentals while also focusing on diferent social skills during the two hour sessions. The purpose of this program is to encourage young girls ages 12-16 to participate in sports, have positive attitudes, set goals and become more active in the community. This program will be held twice annually.
CHAMPS
This 8-week mentoring program provides young men ages 12-16 with structured activities geared toward dealing with peer pressure, decision making, financial & community responsibility, career planning and more in a positive & nurturing environment. CHAMPS stands for Changing Habits And Making People Successful and is currently held twice annually. Tutoring assistance is provided for all participants.
Catch the Stars Scholarship Programs
These annual programs are designed to recognize and honor Indianapolis area students who excel in academics, make a difference in the community and participate in athletics. Both a male and female Indianapolis Public School student will be awarded $2,500 scholarships based on their essays and applications. A $1,000 Community Star scholarship will be awarded to a local student that is a community leader. The purpose of these scholarships is to assist scholar athletes with their higher educational goals.
Back To School Celebration
The purpose of this program is to get local youth motivated and excited about the upcoming school year. Over 250 school supply-filled backpacks are given to students grades 1-12. The event also includes free food, entertainment and a community fair.
Catch the Holiday Fever
This program was established via a partnership with the Indiana Fever as a way to make Christmas memorable for youth and families in need. The program provides Christmas gifts and a fun-filled party to add some cheer to the holiday season.
Catch the Stars Reading Corner
This program is designed to encourage youth to read by providing books as well as a fun environment to read in. Our Catch the Stars Reading Corners are currently in the Christel House Academy & Brookside Park Family Center. Our hope is to continue building reading corners throughout the Indianapolis, Chicago and Dallas metro areas.
Catchings Corner
This program was implemented during the 2002 WNBA Indiana Fever season to give disadvantaged individuals an opportunity to attend Fever games. Contact us to request tickets for your 501(c)3 organization. |
